    Convert WAV to 2-Pass WMA

    When I convert any WAV (or CD rip) to WMA 2-pass 192 VRB, the auto volume level in WMP is not available. Converting to Lossless or CBR WMA works just fine.

    I have some WMA 2-pass 192 VRB converted with dMC version 10 that auto volume leveling works fine.

    Is this now normal?

    What version of dMC and the WMA codec are you using which doesn't allow auto volume leveling?

      I am using dMC 12.3, the latest WMA Pro plug-in, and WMP 10 and 11 on another machine.

        Have you tried other bitrates on 2-pass to see if that makes a difference? Are you encoding to 44KHz or 48KHz?
        Are you encoding to WMA 9.2, Pro, Lossless, etc?

          Windows Media Audio 10
          codec = Windows Media Audio 9.2
          Quailty (VBR) 2-Pass encoding
          Settings = 192,160,128
          44kHz
          Stereo VBR

            Update.

            Only lossless WMA works with auto volume leveling in WMP11. I just tried all the others (VBR98%, CBR256, VBR128 2-pass), and they did not work.

            I pulled out an old WMA192 2-pass converted on dMC 10, and auto volume leveling works.

              CORRECTION!

              The second statement above is not correct. I mis-labeled those old WMA discs that were ripped with WMP.

              The first statement about Lossless WMA conversions being the only ones that auto leveling works on is correct.
