I am getting glitches when converting from WMA Lossless to WMA CBR 64 kbps. By glitches, I mean short bursts of noise in the output file. I have been using one song in particular while testing this problem, and the glitches consistently appear at the same place in the file every time.
The original file was ripped from CD using dbPowerAmp. There are no glitches in the original. I have also tried ripping directly to WMA 64 kbps, but I get exactly the same results. The song rips with an AccurateRip confidence level 13.
I have tried using the most recent V13 alpha, the V12.4 beta, as well as the V12.3 release of dbPowerAmp. I also get the same problems using both Windows Media Audio Pro 10 codecs releases 4 and 5 for XP.
I am using Win XP Pro SP2. My codec settings are:
Converting to: Windows Media Audio 10
Codec: Windows Media Audio 9.2
Target: Bit Rate (CBR), 2 Pass Encoding enabled
Settings: 64 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo CBR
When making the conversion without any DSP effects enabled, I get a glitch at the 1:06 mark of the output song. When making the conversion with Volume Normalize-Replay Gain DSP, there is no glitch at the 1:06 mark, but there is an even bigger one at the 1:09 mark.
I don't seem to get any problems when using the variable bit rate option, nor do I detect any glitches with higher bit rates.
I can email the output files, if you're interested. They're only about 1.3 MB each. The original, however, is 13.4 MB.
Can you please investigate this issue?
Thank you,
John
