    dBpoweramp crashes computer

The recent download and Install appeared to work perfectly. However, as soon as I try to convert an MP2 file, my computer crashes. The programme starts, and may even run for a few seconds, but then I get either:

    (1) "Explorer has caused an error in USER.EXE and will now close"
    followed by
"Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module USER.EXE at 0007.000062b9"

    or

    (2) "Winoldap has caused an error in NVDISP.DRV and will now close"
    followed by
"Error: watchdog timeout, possible CoreConverter crash"

In each case the computer (Windows ME) hangs up completely.

I should be very grateful for any suggestions.

Why would explorer or winoldap crash? they are not dBpoweramp, seperate programs.

The second error points to your display drivers, I seem to remember something a while ago regarding dMC and video drivers on Win9x, what version of dMC are you using? Also, why are you still using Windows ME?

Sorry, but I've no idea. I just want to use the dBp Music Converter! I've tried closing down possible interferences (e.g. the sound card) but to no avail. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for your comment. I am using the latest version of dMC (v12.3), downloaded for the first time a week or so ago. I use Windows ME because I like the older display & it usually does all I want! However, it looks regrettably as if I'm not going to be able to win this one.
