    Lossless transcoding issue

About six months ago, I transcoded my entire flac collection into alac using dBpowerAMP 11.5.

Now, for reasons that are not relevant, I am transcoding alac back to flac using dBpowerAMP 12.3.

I Decompress the original flacs to wav
    vs. (just to compare)
I Decompress the new flacs to wav:

The result is non matching wav files--they all have a 2 byte difference.
The original flac --> wav are 2 bytes larger than the new flac--> wav.

What could be causing the discrepancy?

ID Tags? Use the Utility codec [Calculate CRC] (it comes with dBpoweramp Reference Codec Pack, any version can use it), that checks the audio data is 100% identical.

The audio CRCs match! Must be the id tags. Didn't think they'd matter.
