Ripper locks up my CD drive.

Using 12.2 Reference on XP.

• Insert CD into drive,

• Respond to pop-up asking for dmC ripper,

• ripper opens up, recognises the CD, fills in the artwork,

• rip CD to disk, successful

• retry one track that is not accurate, successful

• change CD,

• CD not recognised,

• use first CD, not recognised,

• use 3rd CD not recognised.

• exit dmC ripper,

• double click drive on windows explorer

• "The request could not be performed because of an I/O error"

Now the CD drive cannot see any disk. Re-boot and all is well?

This also happened on a second XP machine using the trial 12.3.

Bit depressing, as the only reason I'm doing this is to get album art from AMG into an existing flac collection.

12.4 is in beta. I don't know if this bug has been fixed in the beta, but you could try that too.

Try R13, it had work in compatibility for the eject command which could cause the drive to disapear from the system.

Spoon, does R13 have everything R12 has, but with some additional features that are in Alpha. Or should I regard the whole package as in an unfinished state?

R13 is R12 + improvments, like you said it is alpha, but is worth trying a work has been done in that area.
