    using the db cd writer

    I just uploaded the registered version of the cd writer and when i try to transfer over a music file, I get an error that says "Unknown command line: '<userlastsettings> <skipfinished>' and I cannot transfer over the files.
    is there a step or codec or something that needs to be added? I have the R12 version of the writer is that has anything to do with it.
    Also, how do I make dbpoweramp my default player?

    Re: using the db cd writer

    The registered version of CD Writer (CD Writer r2 from the Products page) is based on an earlier version of dMC (dBpowerAMP Music Converter). CD Writer r2, dMC r11.5 (and earlier), dBpowerAMP Audio Player (dAP), and Sveta all use a different set of codecs than does dMC r12 and later. They need to be installed to a different folder than dMC r12 or later. See: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/legacy-compatibility.htm
    For these programs you MUST use the Legacy codecs from Legacy Codec Central here:

    There is a newer version of CD Writer. This is the CD Writer r3 beta from the Beta section of this forum here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=13579
    This version of CD Writer IS compatible with dMC r12 or later and uses the same codecs as dMC r12 or later. It does support the burning of gapless audio CDs (which CD Writer r2 does not). It does not curently have controls to allow you to preview tracks before burning, or to change the order of tracks on an audio CD, and it does not handle Playlists (all of which CD Writer r2 can do).

    You are better off using the curent beta version of dBpowerAMP Audio Player from the Beta section of the forum here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=2045 . This is now 3 years old and is more stable than the r2 "standard" version of dAP on the Products page. Again, with dAP, you have to use the Legacy codecs and it needs to be intalled in the same folder as the other programs using the Legacy codecs (dMC r11.5, CD Writer 2, Sveta) and NOT in the same folder as dMC r12 or later (or CD Writer r3). To set dAP as your default player, go to the files association configuratin window for dAP (on my system the path is Start>All Programs>dBpowerAMP>Configuration>File Associations but your path may be different.

    If you need further help on this, please post.

    Best wishes,
    Bill
