How exactly does dbpoweramp use the 'artist' field when generating names for ripped FLAC files if there is more than one artist associated with the track?

Yes, but how is the file actually named. For example, if the ripper is set to use the tag information to create files according to

"c:\music\<ALBUMARTIST>\<ALBUM>\<ARTIST> - <TITLE>"

how will the <ARTIST> field be filled in if it has more than one value?
(ignoring my incorrect syntax for the expression)

Naming (for filenames) will only ever use the first artist.
