CD rotates slow after dbpoweramp installation

This is a long shot but I replaced the CD reader and the new one has the same symptom. Put in a CD to play and it plays slow.
The major change to the computer was the installation of dbpoweramp reference and the use of it with Accurip.
    Any thoughts?

Well, it turned out to be a bad CD that I was using for testing. Other CDs work fine and dbpoweramp is exonerated. First CD of this serious nature in many thousands that I have processed in one way or another.

Many cd drives read the outside track when you insert the cd and set the drive speed to the condition of the cd.
