Option "Append [CD/DVD/DAT]

I recently purchased program and most options are self explanatory, but I can't find anything that tells me what the following option in "music converter" configuration does:

Under "dbpoweramp reference"
append [cd/dvd/dat] to frequencies, bits, and channels
