    Program will not respond

    I'm running Vista.

When I try to open the ripper I get a message saying the program has stopped working and that windows will look for a solution for the problem. Then windows closes the program.

The program was working fine before.

    Please help!

Re: Using vista - ripper will not respond

Try starting the program with no cd in the drive, you might have checked the meta data option to read cd-text for example.

When I start the program without a disk it starts fine. However, when I put a disk in I get the same error message.

Make sure you are using R12.3

Try this: Start >> Programs >> dbPoweramp Music Converter >> Configuration >> dBpoweramp Configuration

For the music converter tab, enable the debug option.

Then open cd ripper and get it to crash, post the text file shown after the crash.

          I don't know what R12.3 is.

When I click dbPoweramp Music Converter - it does not show configuration. It only shows other files.

Thanks for your help so far.

            Re: Program will not respond

R12.3 is the version, the latest version.

Check you are running the right program, do not start dBpoweramp Music Converter, rahter open the configuration folder.

              Re: Program will not respond

              It's says version 12.3 - not R12.3

I cannot find a debug option anywhere. Only info about compatibility mode and settings.

Open dBpowerAMP Configuration, click on the Music COnverter tab.
The debug option is on the bottom of this window below the sections on Windows Explorer Integration and Internet. You may have to scroll to the bottom of this window to actually see the option (which is the case on my machine).

                Best wishes,
                Bill

                  Awesome thanks for your help.

The problem is that even with the debug option enabled - the program still crashes the same way - and does not show any debug text.

You don't have a notepad document open with lots of text in it?

No. Windows forces a shutdown of the program before any debug info is displayed.

The debug text comes from a 2nd hidden program which is running, you can even end task cd ripper (when in debug mode) and it will show.

                          Re: Program will not respond

Debug mode is enabled and I am not getting any text posted in notepad or anywhere else that I am aware of.

Is this hidden program something I can search for?

In windows task manager it shows that dbpoweramp is not responding, but when I click end task it will not close the program.

If dbpoweramp is crashing, windows will show the error and offer to close the program.

These are the two messages I get immediately after I insert a CD.

"dbpowerapm CD Ripper has stopped working windows is checking for a solution to the problem."

A few seconds later that message disappears and this message pops up:

"dbpoweramp CD Ripper has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

Then the only option is to click the "close" box. Otherwise the program remains frozen.

No other text appears during or after this time.
