Tag & Rename can't read Wav tags created by dMC

    Hi,

I have over 400GB of FLAC files that I want to convert to WAV files. The WAV files need to have tags (including Cover Art) copied over from the FLAC files. Therefore dBpowerAMP Batch Converter was recommended to me.

As I have a large number of music files to manage, I use Tag & Rename exstensively to edit tags.

So I've tried dBpowerAMP Batch Converter to convert a few test folders of FLAC files to WAV files - so far so good. But none of the ID tags created by dBpowerAMP will display in Tag & Rename.

The dBpowerAMP right click "Edit ID-Tag" shows that the WAV files have tags.

Does dBpowerAMP not generate standard ID3v1 or ID3v2 tags? (I've looked under Codec Advanced Configuration and the Wave ID Tagging gives Tag Creation as (default) rather than ID3v1 or ID3v2 for mp3 Tag Creation.)

What do I need to change to get WAV files with tags that Tag & Rename can read (it's compatable with ID3v1, ID3v2, Wma, Ogg/Flac, Mp4/M4A and APEv2 tags - but ID3v1 or ID3v2 is my preference)?

We will be updating our Wave Codec for R13 which works with T & R, there are 2 'standards' for ID Tagging wave files:

LIST Chunk << dbpoweramp uses, been with Wave files for over 10 years, pro-audio tools use this (such as Soundforge)
ID3v2 tag stored as a 'id3' chunk, a relatively new 'standard', this is the one we will be adding support for.

      Excellent!

      When will R13 be available?

It is an on going development right now, final release date has not bearing on when that ability is added.

I guess my reasone for asking is to decide, do I wait for dMC to add this function, or try an find something else to convert all my FLAC files. (Ideally I want to get them all converted before December.)
