    DVD -> WMA Lossless 5.1

    Hello,

    I've ripped an AC3 stream from a DVD into a 6 channel wav file. I'm then using dbpoweramp to convert that 6 channel wav into a 5.1 WMA Lossless file. Presumably this functionality is supported okay and I'll retain all 6 discrete channels on conversion? I assume this works okay but I want to make sure this works alright before commiting to rip the audio from all my concert DVDs!

    Yes, dMC can convert your 6-channel WAV into a 5.1 WMA Lossless file, as long as you have the WMA codec installed.

      I converted the files successfully but they didn't appear to play in 5.1 on the xbox 360. I also tried converting directly w/ the Windows Media Encoder app and had the same results. Unfortunately I'm guessing that the 360 downmixes all audio files to 2.0...

      ...of course, if anybody knows differently, feel free to share.
