AMR file support

recorded some stuff using my nokia phone and its in amr format.

just wondering what I can use to convert this to a more popular format.

the nokia utility is crap because it makes it sound worse when converted to aac format. The original quality is already not great so any more degradation is quite bad.

Have you tried using the Nokia utility to convert from AMR to wav? (I am not familiar with the program so I am not sure this would be any better). While you wouldn't want to save this file in wave, you could use dMC to convert to some other format of your choosing.

This assumes that the wave file sounds ok. If it does, then the problem you had might involve trying to find the right settings for your conversion to AAC. If the wave file does not sound good, then you would need to find another AMR converter. I can only recommend you try googling .amr converter .
