    no tags in MP2 files?

I recently upgraded from an earlier version of dMC to R12 Reference. With the new version, I'm unable to get any of the MP2 encoders to put ID tags in the output MP2 files. I can produce APE and MP3 files with tags, but not MP2 files. Previous versions produced tags in MP2 files. What am I missing? Was this capability removed, or have I just not found the right config setting? If the encoders can't do what I need, can I use scripting to put tags in my MP2 files?

I need tags (in ID3v1 format, no less) in MP2 files for my Arrakis DC6 player.

No, there are no tags in the file. Actually, I'll take that back. If I tell dMC to put the AccurateRip Result tag in the file (along with the usual other tags), then the file has the AccurateRip Result tag, but no other tags!

Where are you encoding from, a CD rip? Did dMC pull down the meta-data? Are "Artist" and the like checked in the ID Tag Options?

Re: no tags in MP2 files?

As I said, APE and MP3 formats produce proper tags. The lack of tags in MP2 format occurs whether I'm ripping from CD or converting from another format. BTW, "Artist" is not an available option in ID Tags options. It looks like this is a standard, always-there tag. (If tags are produced.)

It seems that the AccurateRip Result tag makes it into the MP2 file because it's not actually inserted by the MP2 encoder. It's inserted by CDGrab.exe, not CoreConverter.exe, after the encoder is done.

The MP2 encoder seems to be unable to produce tags. Interestingly, this agrees with the help file, which says that the MP2 encoder can neither read nor write tags.

There are no DSPs selected such as Manipulate ID Tags? that could remove all the tags.

              No DSPs are enabled.

Re: no tags in MP2 files?

Bump. Spoon and LtData seem to think that the MP2 encoder should write tags. The help says that it can't. For me, the help seems to be correct. But this is a big step backward from earlier releases.

Confirmed issue, tags are not being written to mp2, will release an updated version to beta soon.
