I have a problem losing ID tags when I convert flac files to Apple lossless.
My source files were ripped using CDex as flac format (approx 50% compression) for streaming to Squeezebox and I am trying to batch convert them for use on an Ipod Nano to AAC.
I have tried using the Nero codec as this allows me to set the output files to 128-Kbps AAC which the apple lossless codec does not seem to allow. When I use this codec I loose all the ID tags and then Itunes imports each track seperately rather than as part of an album.
If I convert from flac using the apple lossless codec I get huge files but the ID tags remain intact. If I then use the Nero codec on these files I get smaller files and the ID tags still remain intact!
If anyone has any ideas why the Nero codec strips the ID tags from the original flac files I would be very grateful as I don't really want to have to do a two stage process.
Have I missed some options somewhere...
Thanks in advance.
