    Last song will not rip

    Greetings Troubleshooter.
I had posted a thread back in February relating to problems I experienced with trial version ripping cds. Last songs on discs would not rip. The messages were generally as follows:
"Read into lead-in or lead-out Error ripping to Flac Unable to read CD, check CD disc Frame LBA 279183 ripping 0 frames trackend LBA 279182 Drive is unable to read into lead out, uncheck overread option [clRipperSecure::Rip]"
At the time I recall (?) being told some codecs were missing and such was the source of the error. I waited for months for remedy to arrive then summer came and I've been traveling for some time. Now I'm back and eager to purchase and use program but would like some feedback regarding this problem, to know whether program will encounter same obstacle. Please advise.
    Many thanks.

You have tried R12.3? improvements were made in that area.

How do I find out what version it was? It's still on my computer but will not function due to expiration of trial period.

I had version 12. Please tell me how to purchase new version and get installed on my computer. I tried selecting "register" under "version" tab of configuration but nothing happened. Remember, I only had 30 day trial version previous (don't know if that matters or not).
          Thanks.

To register the program click the link http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc-power-register.htm

However you might prefer to download the latest trial version 12.3 and check that the problem you were experiencing has been resolved before paying any money.

Good advice to download trial version first, which I did. However, I've used previous trial version for 30 days. So I'm thinking the message "Secure ripping not supported with unregistered dbpoweramp" which appeared when I tried ripping has something to do with that. What now? Am I prevented from trial of 12.3 because of previous use of version 12 trial? Please advise.

Yes, if the previous trial expired, it will be expired for dMC r12.3 also. However, the problem you were having before, did it only occure when ripping securely or would it also occur when ripping in Burst mode?

My recollection is that it occured during both modes but that doesnt make much sense given the message that used to display. It's been awhile. I guess we could operate under the assumption only during secure mode. Dont think I used burst mode except perhaps as counterpoint to test ability to rip entire disc without excluding last song. Anyways, your thoughts were?

I believe you can get your trial back, at the expense of losing your settings, if you run the dMC reset utility here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=13285

Should I use the "utility" link provided to wipe out dbpoweramp files or do an uninstall then use utility link?....We're almost there.

Great. Follwed your directions. However, secure rip option is no longer selectable for cd ripper, only burst mode?!? Ugh. Thoughts?

Secure mode is only for registered or trial versions, you have already used your trial.

Install the reference trial and get an extra 21 days (or power pack if you had the reference).

I installed reference trial and all appears to be running well. Previous problem where last song would not rip has not recurred. I love this program. Excited to be using it. Thank you all for the assistance.
