I have been using dMC R12.2 for about a month. I have ripped many of my CDs, but have halted the effort while I sort out some hardware and software issues; trying to sort out the best solutions for the long run as I do not want to rip them all again!
Anyhow, for my present dilemma, which involves ripping multiple CDs by the same artist. I have been using (I think) the default settings for file path and naming when ripping. When I go to the artist folder on the hard drive, I see all the tracks for all applicable albums, and each track has its correct tagging data. However, there is only one cover art image, probably from the first album I ripped, right? This is also evident in my media library, where it will separate the albums with individual tracks but will use that common album art image for all albums by that artist.
Here are the path and naming settings I am using:
Path: \\Lan_server\data\Music\
Naming: (Save in Dynamic Artist Folder)
Pressing the ‘Set’ button under naming shows that I am using the following string….:
[IFCOMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],Various Artists[]\[album][IFMULTI] Disc [disc][]\[track] [artist] - [title][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[artist] - [album][IFMULTI] Disc [disc][] - [track] - [title][]
….which appears to be the default.
I tried one of the other strings that I thought might work…:
[artist] - [title] ([album])
….but it put the tracks and album art in the top level folder (Music) and not in the artist folder.
How can I create a separate album folder under the artist, each with its tracks and individual album art? There’s gotta be something simple I am overlooking.
Thanks,
Rick
