ALAC files won't transfer to Ipod or play in Winamp

I have used dBpoweramp to rip cd's to ALAC. For some reason they will not play in Winamp or transfer to my ipod. Flac and M3 conversion work perfectly, has anyone encountered this problem?

Winamp will not support alac without a special plug-in.

iTunes should play them fine and transfer to the ipod.
