I've been a sporadic dBpoweramp in the past and have generally liked the program. I've been using EAC for many years as my audio ripper, but I'd like to move to dBpoweramp as it seems to have more active development and better features compared to EAC. If I register, I will go for the reference version, as I'm a high end audio freak and musician and need the additional features of the reference version. I'm concerned about registering R12 as there are several features that I need that are promised for R13, but the upgrades for the reference version are listed as "minor version" upgrades. To me, that means R13 will not be free to upgrade to from R12. But the power pack version seems to get free upgrades for life. Could you clear this up please before I register? If I register R12 I would want to upgrade to R13 when it comes out to get the added features, but if the upgrade is not free from R12 to R13 then I will wait until R13 comes out and see how the feature set looks like before I register.

Re: Reference version upgrade?
As you said, the upgrade from r12 to r13 for Reference is not free, but will be a small upgrade cost that will be lower than the full Reference price, but I don't think Spoon has set an amount yet. If you choose to not pay to upgrade to Reference, you can always upgrade to the r13 PowerPack at no cost.
