    compilation naming string

    Hi
Hope you can help. I'm trying to create a string for my compilation cds which i am happy with.
Normal cds are fine as i use the string [artist] - [album] (cd)\[track] - [artist] - [album] - [title].
I am having trouble creating a simliar one for compilations. An example i have is Coldcut - Journey By DJ cd.
I would like the following format:
    Folder:
Coldcut - Journeys By DJ (cd)
    Tracks:
    01 - Coldcut - Journeys By DJ - Philorene - Bola.mp3
    02 - Coldcut - Journeys By DJ - The Truper - Street Beats.mp3
    Any help would be appreciated.

Since compilation discs have various artists, you need to remove the [artist] on the name folder, so the string will be:
    [album] (cd)\[track] - [artist] - [album] - [title]

      Thanks for your reply.
That doesn't work as it doesn't include the actual track artist in the filename. That is what i am having trouble with.
      Thanks

What is put in place of [artist] in the filename then? If you have the PowerPack or Reference, it includes support for compilation CDs.

          Re: compilation naming string

To try and explain better the cd is made up of tracks by various bands but the cd artist is Coldcut rather than Various Artists.
I can do this ok in EAC by using %N - %A - %C - %T as the filename. This is beacause EAC amalgamates the individual track artists and track name in the one field called Title.
          So in Eac i can get 01 - Coldcut - Journeys By DJ - Philorene - Bola.mp3 as a filename but 01 - Coldcut - Journeys By DJ - Bola.mp3 in dbpoweramp.
          Hope thats a bit clearer.

So you want "[track] - [album artist] - [album] - [artist] - [title]"? Does dMC show Coldcut or Philorene for the track artist?

Thanks for your help LtData. I used [album artist] - [album] (cd)\[track] - [album artist] - [album] - [artist] - [title] which gave me exactly what i wanted.
