I noticed when I decoded an mp3 with lame and then with dmc that the files were slightly different in size. I tend to use lame as my standard for decoding quality so I wondered about whether the differences in decoding between the two were significant? I had thought that dmc used lame as it's decoder as well as encoder but that is not true?

When converting them both to wave what is the file size difference?

If the compiles are of differing dates then filesize will be slightly different, and are you sure you used the same settings?
