    Problem converting FLAC to MP3

    Hi,

I am trying to convert some files from my Macintosh MS300 music server in FLAC to MP3 on my PC. Everytime I run the conversion I get:

    Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'P:\Mooney Suzuki, The\Have Mercy\07 - Mercy Me - Rock.flac' to 'Q:\iPod\Mooney Suzuki, The\Have Mercy\07 - Mercy Me.mp3'
Error: Watchdog timeout, possible CoreConverter crash

If I convert again selecting not to overwrite whatever was converted then some more files go through. I have to run the conversion about 10 times to finally convert 5 CD´s!

This is ridiculous and makes the program unusable. I did not have problems with older versions of the codec and programs (very old, I don´t remember theversion) and the same Macintosh music server.

    Thanks.

I am using version 12. I saw elsewhere in the forum that someone was having a similar problem but ripping to FLAC and that was solved by the 12.3 beta. I will try that and report here.

The 12.3 beta solves the problem. I look forward to the final release.

I am having the same problem trying to convert a flac to a mp3. I just downloaded the beta version but it didn't fix it for me. What happens is that it "converts" in about two seconds, makes an mp3 file, but there is no sound when I try to play it. Any suggestions?

What is the filesize of the mp3 file? can other programs play that flac file? it might be corrupted.

The mp3 is only 625 bytes, but the flac file is about 26mb, and it plays fine on winamp.

Also, when I installed the beta I just installed it over the old one and did not uninstall the last version. And I have the new flac codec just to let you know. :p

Yeah, could that be the problem?

No problems there the flac is just 1 dll, you cannot install it incorrectly no matter what.
