Can LP scratches be filtered out

I have a couple of old LP records I'd like to convert to MP3. They have one or two scratches, and I was wondering if there is a way to remove or mask the sound in some way on the converted WAV or MP3 files?

Not currently with dBpowerAMP - you might investigate something like 'Cool Edit'
