Music Conversion from CD's to MP3 Format

Hope this isn't a really dumb question but my computer skills are very limited. I've downloaded and installed dBpowerAMP Music Converter Release 11.5 and also Windows Media Audio 10 Pro Release 3 (Windows XP). And when I insert a CD for conversion all of the tracks show, but for some reason I'm not able to start the conversion process. What am I missing? All suggestions are welcomed. Thank you. Uninstall the WMA codec then go into Legacy Codec Central and download the WMA codec there.
