is anyone able to get a compilation to name correctly in release 12.1??

I can't get dbpowerAMP to pay any attention to the compilation switch. The [IFCOMP] function acts as if its always "no".

If anyone has a string that works, and any hints I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,

I have gotten the compilation switch to work multiple times, yes. My string:
    [IFCOMP][album]\[IFMULTI] Disc [disc][]\[track] [artist] - [title][][IF!COMP][IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][]\[album][IFMULTI] - Disc [disc][]\[track] - [artist] - [title][]

OK - I think I finally get it.... classical music

A "compilation" in dbpowerAMP terms is a CD where the artist varies. The check box on the interface changes the columns that display, but doesn't make the CD a compilation. The artist must change, whether the change comes from the database, or my changing the string.

This is why I couldn't get the [IFCOMP] function to work.

My problem is that I have been ripping classical music CDs. In my mind, a CD with multiple composers, all with the same artist, is a compilation. I thought that by just setting the switch I could get the folder hierarchy and track titles to come out differently, but I guess that won't work.

At least now I understand the problem. If you have figured out a way to organize classical music I would appreciate hearing about it.

      thnx,

      Mark
