    Problem encoding to m4a

    Hello,

I have used dMc for a long while and never have had any problems with it. I recently formatted my PC and reinstalled dMc+m4a codecs and now when I try to convert any file to m4a I get this error:

Have I done something wrong? Converting to m4a worked fine before the format.
Thanks in advance for any help

You downloaded and installed the Nero Digital Audio .exe's, right?
What file format are you encoding from (channels, bits/bitrate, frequency)? What settings did you pick for the encoding (bitrate, forced profile?)?

The source audio file is 32Kbit/s, 22050Hz, mono file (audio book) which I want to convert to eAAC+/HE v2 (8 or 16kBit/s) to save space and test if it's still hearable.

Edit: Here's the file info from GSpot

For some reason, the "force profile" option seems to give that error. If you do not force a profile, does it encode successfully and is it LC or HE or HEv2?

Wow! That seems to work :D
Thanks a lot for your help
Now I need to figure out how to determine what profile it uses.
          MediaPlayer Classic says:
Audio: AAC 22050Hz stereo 705Kbps [Audio]
          And GSpot says:
          mp4a MPEG-4 AAC LC

If there's not a way to force HEv2 I'll just settle with this. Thanks again
