    Compressing files

This is probably a no brainer but I am a first time user.
When I convert an mp3 file that is 8,156 kb to a wave file the size jumps to 56,896 kb.
How do I keep the wave file down to a reasonable size?

    Re: Compressing files

Either lower the settings of the WAV (bits, frequency, channels) or make a compressed WAV.

The reason the WAV file gets so big is that WAV is uncompressed audio and mp3's are compressed. Why do you need a WAV file of it anyway?

Try making a mp3-WAV (an option when you pick WAV as the codec) and then lower your settings (bitrate, channels, frequency) until you get the size low enough.
