flac and cover art

I am currenlty ripping my cd's into flac files using the reference dbpoweramp and am wondering if the cover art is being embedded into each file? I am using JRMC as a front end and the files show embedded cover art when they are imported. I am wondering when the embedding process is taking place.

It takes place when you rip the CD.
