dMC12.1 won't rip

windows media player successfully rips the CD. Version 12 successfully ripped tracks 1-5 with accuracy(7). Version 12.1 managed to rip tracks 6-8 with accuracy(7).
It's a brand new CD straight out of the package. Immediately prior, I ripped another CD, which was an Accuraterip key cd, successfuly--so I don't think it is the drive.

I manually over-rode both the artist and performing artist fields. This is the only think "different" that I did.

Need to use communication: Windows Internal

Not only does this fix the problem, but it enables dmc to run at least twice as fast.

Now I get rip speeds of x24 and above; before I never saw better than x14.

also, I get interleaving of reading and encoding. So, overall speed is much better.

Seems like this should be the default install, given all of the problems reported around this.

What CD drive are you using, model number and all? What version of Windows?

As for Windows Internal being the default, it does lose a few features over SCSI Pass-Through, such as C2 error pointers and FUA cache clearing.
