I recently purchased the dBpoweramp music converter and have been ripping CD's to the flac format.
I have ripped about 15 CD's so far and had no problems.
But I have come across two specific CD's that when attemping rip them, cause my XP workstation to completely hang. The Time Elapsed clock stops and the entire GUI becomes unresponsive.
Each time, the RIP Status sits at "Ripping 0%" for 35 seconds and then hangs. Normally, at the 35 second mark, the status would cut over to "CPU1 Encoding xx%" and proceed to encode. So it seems to die right when it starts to encode.
Finally, I should point out that using the same machine, I can RIP these CD's to MP3 using CDEX and teh lame encoder. These new CD's are clearly readable by the system.
Any idea what's going on?
