    AAC to M4a codec problem

    FYI-

When using the aac to m4a conversion codec, I've discovered that the m4a file created is missing the ftyp atom. This apparently causes problems with some applications and mobile devices.

Have you tried running the "m4a optimize" codec on it? I believe it is installed along with the "AAC to m4a" codec.

Re: AAC to M4a codec problem

I hesitate to necrobump a six year old thread, but it seems that this is still a problem as the "aac to m4a" converter hasn't been updated since v1.0.

m4a files created omit the ftyp atom. This atom should always be present.

To clarify, "m4a optimize" does not correct this.

      Any chance of a fix?

We do not support this codec any more, it is not listed in Codec Central.
