lame in dBpoweramp ripper and music converter

I'm curious as to when I rip a CD and pick LAME as the encoder, I only get CBR settings and VBR/ABR are not chooseable but if I rip as .wav files and then use the converter, all options are available? This is with 12.1 Reference.

    thanks,
    Michael

    Pick "mp3 (LAME)" not a WAV-compressed LAME-mp3.

OK, I found that...thanks! But now I noticed when I encode them during the rip, I had about half the files with bad last frames (according to encspot)? Thanks!

Your problem sounds similar to a known bug in r12/r12.1 and is fixed in r12.2, which is in beta but only for PowerPack.

Encspot possibly does not know about ape2 tags?
