    Problem converting APE to MP3

I'm no audiophile so forgive me if my request is silly

I downloaded an APE file off the internet recently. for the sole fact that i wanted to hear the album now and simply grab the MP3 version when it became available (album is of foreign origin) But the urge to learn how to do something new led me to dbAMP to make my own MP3 files so i wouldn't have to worry about such a thing again.

So everything goes fine until I convert the APE to MP3 and notice the the MP3 once converted was a single large file, whereas I had hoped for separate tracks.
I browse through the settings to find to option to do so with no luck

thus the question, How do i convert the APE to separate tracks?

Re: Problem converting APE to MP3

It sounds like you downloaded a APE file that used an embedded CUE sheet to split up the large file into separate tracks. Unfortunately, dMC does not support CUE sheets or APL files and therefore can't break up your large file into its corresponding tracks. The only option I know of is to use a program such as Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) to edit the corresponding mp3 file and manually break it into separate tracks or to use some of dMC's DSP effects (requires PowerPack or higher) to convert a given segment according to start and stop times.
