    Broadcast Wave Format

    Hi all,

I just purchased Reference and the main reason was for the Broadcast Wave format. I need to rip 70 CD's and take them into pro-tools and I don't want to have to do any file conversion into pro-tools. We use BWF all the time like this with no problem. When I go to rip a CD the only BWF is see is BWFMP2 I don't want a MP2 and since I'm working with CD's converting to anything onther than 44.1 16bit is a concern.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Re: Broadcast Wave Format

If you rip to the normal Wave codec (PCM everything [as source]) that will be acceptedby pro tools, the bext extra chunk will not be written, R12.2 will ship will a bext tag writer, saying that the bext tags are just:

Description, Originator, OrigReference, OrigDate, OrigTime, TimeReference, CodingHistory

You might not have a need to fill those in.

      Hey Spoon,

Just sent you a privat email as well, just ignore it. When I use the Wave format it still has to go thru a conversion process with Pro-Tools. In the past when I've used BWF there has not been this conversion process.

I'll check agian to make sure I'm not missing something in PT
