    mp3 codec does not work

I have been using dBpowerAMP for several years. However, I tied to convert a .wav file to mp3, I am now getting this message, "The CODEC required to compress could not be opened."

I've reinstall dBpowerAMP, checked my to see if my .mp3 codec is corrupted (it's not).

I can still save as .mp3 in my sound editing program.

    Any ideas?

Can you convert other files to mp3?

What are the specs for your WAV file, such as bits, frequency, channels? Is your wav uncompressed or a compressed WAV? Where did your WAV file come from?

What settings are you picking for your mp3 file?

Can you do a test conversion on your WAV file? To do this, pick the codec "Test Conversion" as your codec in dMC. If there is no error, then your source file is fine.

Try Release 12, it sounds like you are using a very old version.
