    Dalet/Digigram .snd

Just about to give up with this, but we have around 4000 soundfiles recorded with Dalet 4, using Digigram PCX 5 soundcards and their WBX algorithm - if we had opted for the MUSICAM algorithm we'd have been fine apparently, but we didn't know that in 2001!

    The files produced are MP2 at 256kkpbs (=128x2), 48kHz (6:1 compression).

Digigram did supply a 'convert.exe' tool which it then turned out "would not work if the files have a Dalet header" (we presume they do as they were recored with Dalet). Nothing so far will convert these to anything else - or play them.

Can anyone see a solution? Many thanks

It looks like if your install dMC r11.5 (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r11.5.exe) and then go to Legacy Codec Central, there is a Dalet .snd codec (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/legacy/cod...tral-dalet.htm) you can install to convert your files to a different format.

      Hi. Thanks for this.
Yes, we have tried both of those and the message is
      "The CODEC required to decompress
'C:\Documents and Settings\Studio7\Desktop\wbx.SND' could not be opened".

Might it help if I posted a small sound file (or a link to one)

Try Release 12 and the new Dalet codec from here:

Dalet is a popular Radio Automation system used worldwide. In the early days (in version 4.3), Dalet only supported their own audio format (.snd). These days (in version 5.1 and DaletPlus) other formats are also supported, but many broadcasters still have a back catalogue of audio files and systems which still use the older

Well, we've tried the <dMC-R12.2-Ref-Trial.exe> with the <dMC-ref-codec-pack.exe> and <dBpoweramp-codec-Dalet.exe>...

It converts, but the result is a tiny file with no audio...???

Shall we give up and delete 'em all?

.snd is also used for other audio formats, might not be a dalet file.

Deffo a Dalet file - recorded on Dalet with Digigram cards. This was the WBX format which appears to have been a disaster! Thanks for all the help -looks like it can't be done.
