line feeds in retrieved tag data

I'm using R12.1 for ripping flacs and CDs to m4a. I have a problem with all the line feeds embedded in the tag data retrieved from the tag sources. When I attempt to export my iTunes database and manipulate the data in a spreadsheet these line feeds screw up the transformation by inserting premature end-of-records.

I see the line feeds in the Composer and Comment fields, but it's probably likely that other fields contain line feeds also. Can an option be added to dMC which would strip all non-printing characters from the tag data? Or maybe a DSP would do the trick? I hope this can be solved in dMC as I have tried all the "easy" tricks to remove this data (vi, sed, UltraEdit, etc.)

    Thanks for listening...

Are you sure they are not just multi composers? I don't see why a composer would have a return in the name.

Well, they do occur where there are more than one composer. And the character that I'm finding is the same which occurs at the end of the record/line (in iTunes exported data.) Is there good reason for embedding non-printable characters in any tag?

To seperate the multi-items, in CD Ripper options and ID Tags you can disable the multi artists, etc.

For m4a we have to update the codec to support the advanced stuff such as album art, and multiple items, this is being worked on right now.

Don't know if this helps but I have found it easy to remove line feeds and tabs from tags using mp3tag and its "action" feature.
