    SIS630M.DRV general protection faults

New user so forgive me if this is a "stupid" question. Just installed dBpoweramp (Power Pack + Mp3) after downloading to a Windows 98 machine.

All attempts to covert a .wav (.cd2) file generates a general protection fault in the SIS630M.DRV file.

    What am I doing wrong?

What do you mean ".cd2" file?

Rookie mistake. I think I should be using the Ripper instead of the Converter. I placed a CD and then tried to convert it thinking it was a .wav file.

Today we used the Ripper on my slow W98 machine with 128M of RAM and it took 4 minutes to rip the 5-minute song to .mp3. PROBLEM is that a black DOS window for CoreConvert must be closed to complete the process.

Any advice as to what the CoreConvert operation is struggling with?

      (Thanks for trying to help.)

You installed the Windows 98 here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/Windows95-Update.htm correct?

Is it just an empty DOS window? Does it say anything? Have you tried the new r12.1, linked to below?

Yes, the DOS window is blank.

The CoreConverter DOS window will NOT close automatically, but must be done manually at the 99% point of the Rip Status, and then the Rip completes and the song is "playable."

We downloaded the $18 version yesterday, so is that v12.1?

Start Menu --> Programs --> dBpoweramp Music Converter --> Configuration --> dBpoweramp Configuration
Your version number should be there.

Did you install the Win98 updates I linked to?
