No AMG license for some XP accounts

This is a somewhat involved story.

I run dMC on WinXP Pro, I have a couple accounts on that box. One for the administrator and one for me. I got the PowerPack registered version and installed it as the Admin, accepted the 30 AMG trial. Later when I logged on as myself I forgot to accept the AMG trial when it asked. The AMG feature was available for Admin but not for me.

Shortly after that I decided to get the R12 Ref version, I upgraded my license to that and got the download. Before installing I logged on as the Admin and uninstalled the previous version. Also searched through the registery and removed all references to the software.

I logged on as Admin and installed the Ref version. Accepted the 30 day AMG trial. That works fine for the Admin. When I logged into my account I was not given the option for the 30 day trial.

I prefer to run on a day to day basis as myself not the Admin, so I do not have use of the AMG 30 day trial. I realize that the Ref version comes with a one year license for AMG but am concerned that if I install that it still may not work for the myself account.

    Any suggestions?

Re: No AMG license for some XP accounts

Just as a note, the AMG one-year license is a separate installer file that should have been e-mailed to you.

Note that ALL of dMC's settings are stored in the HKCU, so each user has their own settings, I believe. So even though you cleaned out the registry as the Admin, your account still has the entries. Try uninstalling dMC, deleting the registry on both accounts, then reinstall on the admin and accept the trial on your account. Does this work?

Tried messing around with uninstalling again, removing references from both admin and personal account in registry. Still didn't work.

However using the AMG 1 yr. license file works fine for all accounts. So -problem more or less solved.

      Thanks for your assistance.
