ID-Tag shell property page causes access violation when invoked from Total Commander

    Hi,

While using the ID-Tag (dBpoweramp 12) shell property page from within Total Commander, I very often (maybe 1 in 2 or 3 times) get access violation. This happens at different moments - usually while updating tags but sometimes when just displaying the ID-Tag page.

Edit: I initially wrote that this happens only when multiple files are selected, but that's really not the case: I tried viewing ID-Tag page for single files, and crashed on 4th or 5th file.

Here is the screenshot of the error (this time it occurred when I just tried to view multiple files' ID-Tag):

    Here is the error detail:

    screenshot2

Finally, here is the screenshot of the debug window on the error:

    screenshot3

I think the selected thread is the one that caused the error as indeed it is trying to read "dword ptr [edi + 4]" and edi is 0 (and access violation is reading 0x00000004).

Finally, here is the stack trace for that thread copied from the debugger:

    Have you tried R12.1?

I'm not really sure which version I have. Running dBpoweramp Configuration utility and clicking "Check for Updates" only offers to update the Ogg Vorbis codec (which I think has nothing to do with the problem)... so apparently I do have 12.1 already... dBpoweramp's executables on my machine all show 12.0.1.0 version - is that R12.1?

No, dMC r12.1 executables are 12.1.0.3 or so. Get r12.1 at the link below.

Thanks. Indeed, after installing r12.1 from the link you specified I so far could not repro the bug.

But - unrelated to the bug - I seem to have lost the popup info tips on all types of music files except mp3 with the upgrade... any ideas?

Re-run dbpoweramp configuration, it should put them back (also reboot the computer), whilst in there check that hte correct codecs are installed to support the audio files without popups.

I did that multiple times, of course, also rebooted. Nothing helped until I uninstalled dBpoweramp (including all codecs) completely, and installed it again. Now it works.

Edit: I'm happy to say that the access violation I reported originally does not happen anymore, so far at least :smile2:
