Error using 'auToV Ogg Vorbis Release 1'

    Hello,

I downloaded last night the latest releases of Ogg Vorbis (r15 and auToV b5 20061024)
Converting with Ogg Vorbis finishes successfully.
But the AuToV Lancer shows an error:

    Code:
Error converting to ogg vorbis (aoTuV Lancer), 'track.ogg'
Error writing audio data to StdIn Pipe [clEncoder::EncodeBlock]
md5 did not match decoded data, file is corrupt.
    What should I do different?

What format are you converting from?

I tried both ape and flac.
The source is ripped with dbPowerAMP r12.

      Same problem with wav.

Are you running any DSP effects?

If you using the PowerPack version of dMC, try the new r12.1 beta below. However, do not use it if you are using Reference.

I installed r12.1beta, but the result is the same.
No special effects enabled, see the picture:

I believe installing the latest FLAC beta codec should fix the md5 error for the FLAC source file.

As for the other formats, in dBpoweramp Configuration click on the "Codecs" tab and then click "Advanced Options". Change FLAC, Monkey's Audio from "Stop decoding on error" to "Continue Decoding" and see if this helps.

I'm not sure where to find the latest flac beta.
I modified the configuration according to your directions.
There is no difference when trying to convert .ape or .wav to ogg auToV.

I guess that my processor doesn't support SSE2. :vmad:

                What processor are you using?

My apologies, the latest FLAC beta is in the beta section of this forum. When you install the new one, let it uninstall the old version

                  I have a AMD Sempron 2300+.
It supports SSE, I knew it did something like that, so I didn't bother to check for SSE2. Sorry about that.

It's actually sad, I think, because these compiler directives don't have any effect on the final result of the processed data.

They don't affect the final result, but they are used to make the conversion process quicker and more efficient on processors that support them. I believe there is an SSE-optimized encoder also, which if you can find it, the new exe can simply replace the SSE2-exe or point dMC to the new .exe. This way, you still get faster encoding times and are still using dMC.

I think I found the same release for SSE here: http://homepage3.nifty.com/blacksword/

                      The oggenc2.exe reports:
                      Code:
OggEnc v2.83 (Lancer [20061110](SSE) based on aoTuV b5)
                      (c) 2000-2006 Michael Smith <msmith@xiph.org>
& portions by John Edwards <john.edwards33@ntlworld.com>
The original that I downloaded from de codec central reports:
                      Code:
Fatal Error : This program was not built to run on the processor in your system.
The conversion that I ran as test, finished with success (in r12).

                      What do you think?

Sounds like you have a winner.
