    Editing id3 tags

I have a Rio Karma, and I've downloaded SVETA to evaluate. I find that I can edit the ID3 tags on the Rio with a right click. However, when I right click on an mp3 file on my PC hard drive, nothing happens. Yet when I do so in Windows Explorer I get the option to edit the tag. Is this by design, or am I missing something? Is there no way of editing the local file tags within SVETA?

As an additional comment, when in looking through the support forums for an answer to this question, the whole issue of incompatibility between the different bits of software is thoroughly confusing for someone who isn't already familiar with them. It just isn't clear at all given what I've installed (I just asked for SVETA but got a load of converter stuff as well), what I can and can't do. The idea of installing two separate versions of the same software in different directories with different versions of codecs is just too complicated, I don't have the time to figure it out.

I believe the no-right click in the Sveta explorer window is by design.

Sveta depends on the converter software, they are not independent.

If you purchased "Sveta Fully Loaded", you have the PowerPack, mp3 license, and Sveta. This means you can encode to mp3, get the PowerPack features, and get Sveta.

As for incompatabilities, this will be addressed soon. If you don't need the features of dMC r12, you don't need to worry about installing it in a different directory.

Why would anyone design an application so that you have to go to another application to perform core tasks? I could understand it if you couldn't edit tags either on the player or the local drive, but to enable it only for the player doesn't make sense.

And also, whilst there is a 'title' tag on Windows Explorer, and on the player itself, when you edit the tag on the player in Sveta, it calls it 'track', which is confusing.

So is there any chance in the near future of editing tags within Sveta? I've found that sometimes editing the tags with a right click in wondows explorer doesn't always work (they aren't saved), and I have to use a third application.

Also, the refresh button doesn't work in Sveta. If I change a filename on the local disk, and then try to download it to the mp3 player, Sveta can't can't cope. I have to exit the program, and reload it.

Change to a different folder and then back to the original folder to see updated files.
