Track pregaps

How does r12 deal with track pregaps? Append to previous or prepend to following?

Also, assuming the former, what about 1st track pregaps, and, in particular, as in the case of non-silent 1st track pregaps or hidden tracks preceding track 1?

hidden tracks before track 1 aren't accessible in dMC r12.
