    Re: GetPopUpInfo question

    Hi guys !

I'm getting a strange reaction on this file, on my Win2000 client.
The getpopupinfo.exe executes, then dies and then repeat itself every third second.. making my mousepointer show a pausindicator... I can see it in taskmanager, jumping back and forth. I have too say that you've made the best possible freeware I've seen, but this file seems to be something of a bug...

    Johan. Sweden.

I get the same for files that are on a Ram disc. What disc are your files on?

I get a crash with getpopupinfo.exe with .fla files (flash files before they're compiled into swf for use). I am using Flash MX 2004 Professional.

          Re: GetPopUpInfo question

          Hello,

I noticed that if a window is open that has at least one file displayed in it, and that file is being updated (i.e. the file's being downloaded or the like) getpopupinfo.exe spawns every 3-4 seconds, then vanishes again. This happens even if the window is minimised. I think it could be connected with Explorer's own window refresh.

Great work on an indispensable piece of software btw!

.fla is also a FLAC audio file, any problems with getpopupinfo then disable the popup option in dMC configuration.

                  Runtime error 226

I get numerous M.S.V.B. runtime errors of all sorts blaming it on getpopupinfo.exe it seems to be happening since I have been using dbpoweramp to play files ripped in mp3 from shoutcast with a plugin called streamripper. I ran fine for 3 months until I used it. It does work sweet tho!
                  Take care!

                    Re: GetPopUpInfo question

Another GetPopUpInfo oddity (but not mentioned in this forum): Whenever GetPopUpInfo kicks in, the page file raises from 153 MB to 1.9 Gig (add VM Size column in Task Manager) and whatever I try to end the process, it stays resident in memory. The only thing left is to restart and uncheck this feature in the config window.
I'm using the latest dbPoweramp on XP, nothing special really.

Same problem here. I downloaded some *.ape files that was made by MAC 3.99. Ik updated my MAC 3.97 to 3.99 and now GetPopUpInfo.exe takes a lot of resources. I disabled the popup option in dMC configuration and the problem was over, when I enable the popup function it's back. I hope this info will help.

                          Another question regarding getpopupinfo:
Is it somehow possible to 'hack' it into the shellstyle.dll, so that one can see the track information on the left?

For the new monkeys audio, you need the new dBpowerAMP Monkey codec from 'Beta'

It is upto windows if it displays the info in the left hand side, I think there is some option.

                              Spoondude,
Thanks for all you valuable expertise for such an invaluable piece of software.

Ok, the GetPopUpInfo for me dragged my memory resources to the max, just wouldn't stop climbing. Ended up rebooting 3x before I could get it decoupled. It was an ape file, version 3.99 that was the problem. Before reading your fix above, I used foobar to convert it to a wav, then db to finalize it to an mp3. Got it to work.

                              Thanks again,
                              Johnny Not

I also have getpopupinfo.exe crashing on .mid files, but I've only really noticed it during the windows 'open' wizard.
