now you can convert the same song on two cpus simultaniously

I have a directory of flac files I'm trying to convert. Using either the context menu or batch converter - when the process starts it selects the same song for both cpus. This pretty much hangs the whole process.

I have a screenshot of the selected files and the music converter window (with the same song in both cpus.) I see that you don't allow images in the forum... I can duplicate this problem at will.

    Is this another feature?

I'm using an up-to-date WinXP with 1 GB memory, 1 GB of page and 2 cpus.

You can put the screenshot at another website such as imagevenue.com and upload your image there and then link to it.

Have you tried it with no DSPs selected?

OK, I figured it out when I moved all but the "01" file to an new directory and tried again. The files all have the same title in the tag. Not sure how that happened, but it explains all of this behavior.

Sorry if I wasted any one's time.

I've just noticed the exact same thing, converting WAVs to HE-AAC (Nero encoder). The same thing happens for Apple lossless conversions too.

Since my source files don't contain any tags (some may have INFO chunks, but that's the exception rather than the rule), and I'm using the origpath\origfilename conversion option (D:\My Music -> E:\My Music, etc), with no DSP or any other effects.

Can anyone help figure out why this happens? It only happens twice per file, despite 4 cores.

If you need data, I'm happy to provide versions, etc.

              Any ideas?

Sigh. It was me. I converted some albums with the previous installation of dMC, and put them in the source directory instead of defining a new output directory. So my 'WAV-only' filter (that I assumed I'd applied to the new install) was not actually active.

Result? Unless I check my source folder and file filter, all supported source files will be converted to the same destination file. No wonder I was getting overwrite warnings in the results pane of the conversion dialog. And that explains why for two track files converted, only one file remained in the destination folder(s).
