    Converting Lots of Music

Does anybody know how I can convert about 60 gigs of ALAC music, that is sorted by hand into a whole bunch of different folders and sub folders such that the files aren't moved from their location and the originals are deleted in the process?

Furthermore - is there a way that I can do this WITHOUT deleting the originals, but seperate them out from the new format whilst keeping them sorted the way they are. Basically - I need a way to have a full set of folders and subfolders with all of the music in ALAC, and then another with the same serious of folders and subfolders, but with the music as WMA lossless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is it true that there is no loss of quality when converting from one lossless format to another? E.g. ALAC to FLAC? What about WMA Lossless? The DBpoweramp batch converter gives me errors on every single file when I convert from ALAC to WMA lossless. I assume this means the quality of WMA lossless isn't as good? There were no errors when converting from ALAC to FLAC.

Thanks in advance for anyones help or advice.

Use batch converter and the [Delete Source] DSP effect.

To keep the source files and convert the new in a different set of folders (with same layout), again use batch converter, then after click convert (where the output location is set) select dynamic and type:

    [origpath]\[origfilename]

For the folder above select something like (c:\new conversion\)

Click the 'list / rename button' to see where the final files are going.

Lossless >> Lossless has no quality loss, what error is shown?

I dont mean to sound like an ass or anything - but I dont have any access to methods of payment, and I would be wary of paying AU$30 (almost) for what is likely a one time use - and I am not able to use the DSP effects without registering and buying the powerpack. Is there anyway I can access a trial version?

      Thanks very much.

You should be able to use DSPs in the trial version, it is a fully functional, time-limited trial. Just make sure you accept the 30-day PowerPack or 28-day Reference trial when you install dMC.
