    So slow it's painful

    Okay, here's the story.

So I used to use the previous version and loved it.
I would quickly convert between formats, an entire album from MP3 to WAV in under 2 minutes and then back to MP3 again in about 5 minutes.
Then I upgraded, which by definition should be an improvement.
Well my convertions have slowed right down, so now it takes around one hour to convert an album in either direction.
As I said in the subject, so slow it is painful.

What am I doing wrong or can I get the old version back?

    Please advise.

i'm not the master of this topic, but if you already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, then you could try the magik .dll switchup, where you download from http://mitiok.cjb.net and replace dbpoweramp\compression\lame\lame_enc.dll with the new one. open task manager and check if it is using max CPU. also some of the high quality VBR settings can be drastically slower. someone else should have something better later...

      Any other ideas?

Am I the only one who is experiencing this slow conversion rate?

Make sure volume normalize (or DSP effects are not selected if you have the Power Pack) is off.

          Strange request

          Okay Spoon, here's the request.
Until I "upgraded" I was perfectly happy with the application.
It is only since the "upgrade" that I have experienced this slow down in conversion rate.
So would you please send me via email the executable file for the install of the previous version.

          It would be greatly appreciated.

          My email address is xav84@dial.pipex.com

If it is too big to email then please just send me a link to where I can get it.

On the download page copy the link for the download mirror and replace r9 with r8.exe

BTW it is probabbly the 'Professional Frequency Conversion' which is slowing it down, installing the latest beta and removing the check box in the dMC Configuration gets rid of that.
