wma to mp3

trying to convertwma to mp3 in winXP but i keep getting (error:unable to load decoder for file type '.wma', codec not installed? visit codec central). i went and downloaded (WMA v9.1 codec release 1). i am still getting the same error message. what am i doing wrong? i am not a real great with the computer but can usually figure it out, but not this time.. please help

Which version of Music Converter do you have? R12 or R11.5?
