    Re: r12 CDGrab/CD Ripper Crash

Launch CD Grab without a CD in it, click the arrow beside meta, and uncheck CD-Text. Does that help?

Worked for me! Running Vista Ultimate x64. Sounds like something that needs to be added to the bug list.

Osogrande, Can you send an email please:

Saying you have CD-Text which crashes, I will see if this bug can be squashed.

I'm having the same issue. It started when I accidentally clicked CD Text. Now whenever I select SCSI, CDGrab crashes whether or not I have CD Text selected under the Meta dropdown. (As previous posts suggested I switched to Windows Internal to turn off CD Text). I'm on version 12. Please help as now I have to always manually do a retrieve from freedb.

              It was fixed in R13.

You should be able to start the program with no CD in the drive and uncheck CD-Text.

                Re: r12 CDGrab/CD Ripper Crash

I am having crash problems with r13 on WinXP. I bought and loaded this for the first time this past week. I am finding about half of the CDs crash. CD Rippers goes out and finds whether it's in the accurate rip database and then crashes looking up the meta data.

I have deinstalled and reinstalled. I have installed on a different computer running Vista and cdgrab crashes on the same disks.

                Some disks rip ok.

Any ideas? I've read and tried some of the suggestions in the few threads I could find on crashing but no difference.

                Thanks.

Try switching off cd-text if it is on, or switching off the meta data providers one by one until you find which was cauing the problem.

Looks like the culprit is All Media Guide. I'll test with a few more CDs later today but one CD consistently crashes if I do a "Retrieve from" All Media Guide.

                    Thanks,
                    Anne

It is likely that you have security software which is upsetting the AMG stream, if you can add amr.allmedia.com to the white list in the program (to not be touched).
