    I don't understand the question.
MD5 and Sha files are commonly used to check the integrity of other files.
They aren't sound files like wav or mp3.

.shn is used for Shorten files. Shorten is a lossless format. Currently there is no Shorten codec for dMC (dBpowerAMP music Converter) r12, although one should become available at some point. You can convert Shorten files with dMC r11.5 and the Shorten codec from Legacy Codec Central (follow link at Codec Central to Legacy Codec Central).

As for .md5, I haven't heard of it but I'll keep my eyes open. Do you have a player that can play these files?

        Best wishes,
        Bill

It looks like there is a Nero 7 routine that uses .md5 to check the integrity of downloaded files. See: http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/Nero_MD5_Verifier.html

I do not believe that the .md5 files contain any audio, so I would not worry about trying to convert these. It looks like you can use the Nero MD5 Verifier tool to access the .MD5 check sum files to verify your download.

          Best wishes,
          Bill
